CaptainSim 767-300 Review and problems

Hey guys,
I have to say a few things about the CaptainSim 767-300. First of all I have to say that the model is fantastic. Great job guys! Its a very realistic 767. But there arenīt only good things to say about the CaptainSim 767-300. I think there are many things they could do better! Let me tell you a little (but true) story: Three days ago my autopilot didnīt work anymore. Instead of doing what I wanted it just turns left and right as a ship in a storm. Itīs impossible to get control of the plane after i swithed the autopilot on. The autothrottle wasnīt keeping the speed on the limit I wanted. Iīm sure that Iīve done everything conscientiousely but it didnīt worked.
So i uninstalled it. But when I reinstalled it, there were no IRS-swithes anymore. And some other parts of the Overhead-Panel remained black. So I wasnt able to fly in a realistic way. And it makes me very angry that i payed for this...
Please help me and say your opinion. I want to fly 767 again!!!

Try to redownload installer and reinstall the product, if you use Windows 7 or Vista remember to run installer and fsx both as administrator, you can do that from menu by right clicking those programs.

CS 767 has its own flaws, but it is still much better than average product, I appreciate CS for their work.

Hi FSXclax,

It seems there is something wrong at installation procedure.

Uninstall the add-on, delete all 767 CAPTAIN registry data [start > regedit.exe (run as administrator) > CaptainSim > 767CAPTAIN].  Find the product entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\ (please note, for Windows 64bit versions it is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\767Captain).

Restart PC and install it again.

Hope this helps.

Pinatubo.

Thanks, but it doesnīt work. Without IRS-swithches I canīt check if the autopilot works again. So Iīm a little bit frustrated. Every time I try to reinstall, restart,... the same black parts in the overhead panel!!!

Strange issue.

Maybe your installer is corrupted. Did you try to download a new installer as said by Pvjinflight?

If not, download it again and try installing from the new installer:

Check-in to Customer Support > Select product > Extended Download Service > Get New Links

Or if it still doesn't work properly:

Check-in to Customer Support then click Product Name > Customer Support > submit a Ticket.

I've had this problem before, it's to do with the load manager.
Download the standalone version and install it as admin.
Be sure to completely wipe your registry before re-installing. (Instructions above) Otherwise you will end up in the same situation you find yourself in now.

To the OP. Why are you angry with Captain Sim? You had it working perfectly before so that proves the software is sound.
How about thinking before slanging off like that?
