Hmmm - My experience is the opposite of the previous members. The 737 gives me terrible FPS (usually about 6-7) whereas the 707, 727, 767 all work fine and I can get up to 21 fps. I have my system limited internally and externally to 22 fps for reasons other than hardware.

I have had all sorts of glitches and problems with the 737 even though I have reinstalled it twice and run the repair several times. At a large capital city aerodrome (e.g Sydney, Melbourne etc) it just about brings the system to a halt even though the other Capt Sim  models work just fine with no glitches. The issues are always graphics.

I run a 4GB RAM Dual Core 64 Bit system with a 2GB Video Card (all HP) with Bojote tweaks and FPS limiters.

But I still really like the 737 it is fun to fly and a really nice model apart from the fixes and problems already identified in the wish list and fixes needed. I just find it a pain in the rear to get going properly.

I think it sits around how much RAM you have. FSX would like RAM if it could.

Yes I'm inclined to agree
Actually. I have pretty much the same specs and all my other aircraft run so much better!

I get great frame rates with the 737. Better than I do with the 707, 757, 767 and 777. Weird! Undecided

I concluded a long time ago that it is about the age of your hardware. On my old computer, I could obtain 20FPS in the 707 VC, while in the CS 737 only 10. However, I never really got good FPS with the 757 or 767. B-52 was good though.
It should not cost too much to get some  more ram.

Pete your right FSX is a pain in the proverbial. I have heaps of RAM and dual core 64 bit system but FSX is realy an MS XP program not a true 64 bit multi-core program. I tried getting windows to pretend it was and make it compatible with WIN 7 but that just produced more problems than it was worth, so I reset it. I recently installed a series of updates from MS which produced some pretty stuffed windows behaviour (the draw part not the programs) it has taken all night to resolve the problems including a system restore. Boy am I tired of this sort of crap from MS.

I am getting ready to migrate across to PREPAR3D and hopefully kiss good bye to FSX I know I will not be able to run a few of the aircraft in my hangar but really at this point I don't care I just want a reliable and stable system and program that is updated properly.

As for the FPS, go figure, I can't work it out, I have fiddled with just about everything I can think of including the FPS limiter internal and external, all I know is that my system technically is capable of unlimited but gets the jitterbugs real bad so I keep it limited to 22 fps internally and 30 externally. For some reason that seems to work for me.

I have been thinking of P3D. I will probably get it. You would be stupid not to, and then get the P3D port over program.

The advantage to migrating to P3D (IMO) is that it will get better as time goes by. And because it's core is FSX, it should not be too hard for the developers of addons for FSX to move them across to P3D (like other devs are already starting to do). It would be great if Captain Sim did too, not tthat it matters too much, I am able to use most, if not all, of their addons in P3D (with a little tweaking).

A small word about fps in FSX.
For those who do not know, there is a freeware soft called GameBooster.
This program is fully configurable, is able to shut redundant services and background tasks, clear memory and so on.
On my computer when i run GB, FSX is running considerably faster, sometimes even close to 10fps more than before.
Definitely this soft is worth of trying at least.
