Question regarding FPS (Read 13187 times)

	I was thinking about purchasing the 737 but i wanted to know how is the frame rate compared to what you get with the 707,767,757? Thanks in advance

	The 737 offers the best framerates on my system so far. Even better than the 707 and way lighter than 757 and 767 (mind they have an FMC and 'glass', which eats fps). Due to the very high resolution textures, you shouldn't run her with a low amount of video RAM though. That's the only limit I could think of.

	Not a big system there, but are you running any other addon planes so far? It's hard to judge the system, so I'm looking for a comparison. The 737 isn't really hard on the frames, but I don't know how the textures and maybe some addon scenery of yours add up on e.g. those 512mb of video ram with the mobile GPU. Well, in general, the planes without any FMC and digital displays should be the best in terms of fps. Edited: You could do a test. Download the 707 demo and see how it does. http://www.captainsim.com/products/x707/demo.html It's no 737, but it may act as a good test since it comes with the textures and things. The 737 should be lighter on your system, so if the 707 runs ok, the 737 will most likely do too.

	I own the following CS planes : 707, 757, 767 I'm satisfied by their performances on my system. I don't use any high quality payware scenery only a few freeware, my fsx.cfg is tweaked and the default textures of fsx were changed for lighter ones IIRC That would be nice if CS put a "real" demo for the 737 not just the exterior model...

	Well, well... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us I purchased the 737...and it looks promising! Now I'ill have to learn how to use it! Regarding the fps I'm very satisfied but we will see as my tests of the aircraft progress

	Looks good! Hope you get a lot of joy with it. The 737 is fun for flying short flights. I mostly fly 2 - 2.5 hours in it. I have done a few flights in the 4 - 4.5 hour range as well.

	I'm glad reading about a good impression. Means we don't have to feel remorse now when recommending the plane as being fps friendly. � I have a stupid question though. What happened to the paint on your second screenshot? Not the one from the 737 (that one is cool) but from the pushback tug. It has sprinkles now. � As for the 737 itself, make sure to check out the free addon gauge giving you a tuned flight model and some FO callouts and things. 	Hahaha, I've just read your user title and signature, Pete. � Lets hope the FSX impression gets better with your hardware update. Well, I think she (the plane) does well on the fps. Lets hope the OP is still happy since he is running some older hardware. But you (now) have fancy new stuff, right? Should work extremely well in my eyes.

	It should. Been saving for a long time. The GTX 670 though is the best bit. On my older computer(AMD athlon Dual 5200 2.7Ghz and 9400GT), I could manage 10-15 FPS in the CS 737 VC, keep in mind, I had no weather, medium to low scenery, no AI either. With this newer computer, I don't think I'll have any of these problems again. It is odd though as planes like the CS 707 performed extremely well. It is odd as the 707 likes older hardware. But the best plane for FPS is the new BAe146(not the Avro released, the other one). It is odd to find some work much better than others. But I just got fed up with bad performance, so I thought I'd save up. Also to do tri monitor. I have big plans for the future. Pete
