707-300 Disappearing Radio Altimeter pointer.

When flying the Radio Altimeter pointer disappears. Back on the ground the pointers there again, on the Radio Altimeter.

Would anyone know how to solve this problem?

John,

The pointer is supposed to disappear behind a small blanking shield once you're at 2500' AGL or higher. The radio altimeter only works for altitudes from 0-2500'. Is that what you're referring to?
