A thanks and Varig 727-100 paint request

First I would like to thank Captain Sim for sale the other day. I haven't bought a Captian Sim product since the F-104 for FS9. Yesterday I bought the C-130 Full Pack, the 727-100 + Freighter. I was so happy with the 727-100 that I went ahead and bought the -200 before the sale expired. I have yet to even install the C-130 and the -200 and freighter packs yet.

Anyway, I have been searching around the internet, Avsim, Flightsim.com, etc., and can't seem to locate a repaint for the Varig 727-100 that has been retired. Anyone know where I could find this paint or any of the paint experts interested in doing one?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sean

Wow, thank you so much. I didn't expect such a quick reply.

Just to clarify it's for the FSX version. I saw that there were some for the Legendary 727 for FS9, but I assume they dont work for the FSX version.

BTW, can you make it for the model that has the animated reversers, another company/RE if I remember right? If not, thats fine too. I appreaciate any paint that you can make.

Thanks again. Keep me posted where I can find it to download.

Regards,

Sean

Sean -

You most certainly CAN use the FS9 textures for FSX!  You will need to do a couple of things to make them work right:

- First, download the free utility "DXTBMP".
- Open each bitmap with DXTBMP and then resave as DXT1 .dds textures. DXT1 being important because it gets rid of the alpha channels, which is what you want to do. (You may have to 'flip' the image with DXTBMP before you save it, I forget.  The results will be obvious if needed to and didn't!).
- Note The FSX 727-200's do not appear to use the textures called "727_200_4_T" or "727_200_5_T" for the wings...instead they use "727_100_4_T" and "727_100_5_T". I think this is a change from FS9.
- Make sure you have a proper 'texture.cfg' text file in your converted texture folder.  You can grab it from one of the other aircraft included.

Good luck!

PS - Of course Nathan's FSX repaint will be awesome so we should do nothing to discourage him from doing one.

PPS - Nathan, I bought that C-130 after all!

Here you go this is what it looks like at the moment i only have to sort out the text on the left side of the aircraft and both engines then put a black bit on the nose

Wow Nathan that looks great Smiley I can't believe you painted that so fast.

I am really new to painting myself. I learned how to paint my Cera Bell 412 a few months ago, but I have yet to attempt another aircraft.

Anyways, thanks again for doing that.

Beautiful texture, but unfortunately the website link is not working.
Could you please post on another site?
And it would make a texture of VASP in the old colors?
As in the photo below?

Thanks!  Cheesy
