Just turn your graphics down. Start with traffic level reduction then auto gen.

I have turned all settings to minimum. doesn't make a scrap of difference. Still get 4 - 4.2 fps sitting at the gate - cold & dark.
Can only presume there is a conflict between the 727 & my computer.
As I said, every other A/C screams along.

Can anybody out there help with this problem. I have tried just about everything. Can't get above 4 fps which makes it unflyable. Very disappointed with response from CS.

Hello! Diver,
there are a couple of things you can try...this issue has not come up in my comp but in other forums i have read about it...try reloading the aircraft ingame with the reset and also another thing is turning off the sound with Q see if that helps in any way. u may also try turning off window reflection for the aircraft thru ACE. other aircraft may scream along in u'r system but it still wouldn't hurt to turn down the graphics just to check if that improves the framerates in any way. do u also have other addon aircrafts in FSX that are close to the graphic complexity of the CS727?

I had the same problem. Just uncheck "High Resolution 3D Cockpit" under the aircraft tab in the graphics settings and that should sort it. My FPS went from 7.5 back up to 35.

Many thanks for the advice. I have tried it all and turned FSX to minimum settings and at best still getting 5fps. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 card and FSX screams at near max settings. No other aircraft gives any problems. Have windows 7, 64 bit.  Can't figure it out.  Cheers  Sad

Check out the Captain Sim 767-300 review on Flightsim.com.

In there the reviewer suggested this for NVIDIA users:

"Go to your control panel->Additional options->NVIDIA control panel->go to manage 3d settings->Under 3D app visual simulation scroll down to the bottom and look for Vertical sync->move to the right and hit "Force off" This improved performance in the cabin vastly for me. There still was a bit of lag but nothing as compared to before."

I run ATI so I can't vouch for it.  Worth a try.

Try overclocking you frames by changing:UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=40 ( This is my setting) in the FSX.cfg file.Experiment with it

Have tried every suggestion. Nothing makes a difference. Whether my FSX is cranked up to maximum settings or dropped to minimum settings, the 727 still stutters along at 4 - 5 fps. I suspect it is the VC. Maybe 64 bit & Windows 7 just don't get along with CS.
Thanks for all the advice. I think I might just have to turf the 727. Have asked CS but they just refer me to the Knowledge base and nothing there which helps. Cheers

I suggest you to submit a ticket to technical support. They normally answer very fast.

Hey Diver4818,

just something I thought about: have you tried disabling the effects?
open the aircraft.cfg file of the 727, find the [SMOKESYSTEM] entries,
and put a // in front of all of them (always backup first).
I haven't had any problem with the 727, but I used to have the same problem with one of the C130 variations on my old pc. never tried this myself though.

The reply from CS tech support -
'Unfortunately you are the only person reporting this problem with low FPS when the FSM SP2 is installed correctly. Most likely there are some issues with computer/FSX settings.'

I have checked all my settings. Nothing wrong with them. Everything else flies fine. Guess that is the end of that.

Thanks to the community forum for the advice.
