Title: Panel Display
Post by Brian Neuman on Jan 21st, 2013 at 12:46am
Good evening,

I purchased the 767 yesterday, and so far I am not noticing any real problems, however I seem to be confused about something.

On the panel, it seems to be continually in ILS mode. I dont have my airspeed or vspeed or any of the other items that I believe should be there. Am I missing a switch or a setting when I got the aircraft ready for departure? Thanks for your help.

There are no V speeds displayed, so you have to move the bugs on the ASI so you know where those V speeds are.

As to the ILS, the 767 auto tunes to the nearest VORs and it might select an ILS frequency because it is near. OR. You are departing using an ILS runway and it is pre-selected in case you need to return to the airport because of a problem. I doubt it's the latter reason though.

An image would help me see what exactly it is you are seeing.

Mark, I think he's talking about the fast/slow indicator. The F/S indicator shows deviations from the commanded airspeed. The small diamonds indicate 10 knots fast (F) and 10 knots slow (S).
