Title: Glideslope warning
Post by boeing247 on May 11th, 2012 at 5:44am
What exactly does the "Glideslope! Glideslope!" warning signify? It keeps yelling at me shortly before landing, even though I'm perfectly aligned on the ILS glideslope.

As far as I know, it means that the aircraft has dropped below the Glide Slope when you are close to the ground, so you might land short of the runway. I guess the Ground Radar and Glide Slope combined, trigger it.

Okay, that makes sense, and I had a hunch considering the fact that I was really close to the ground. But why would that happen on a CATIII ILS approach? An autopilot error?

I know that a few FSX default airports the glide slope seems a little low. For example CYEG, when the 767 is on short final, the landing gear hits the grass!
