Radar Question.
Jul 20th, 2013, 12:57am

Can't find anything in the manuals other than a simple layout on page 129! How do I get it into Terrain Mode? Weather works OK, the Tilt and Gain functions seem to be OK as well but if I select WX+T or MAP I get nothing. Both modes are displayed as selected along with the tilt setting.

Thanks for any help.

PS. I noticed we have no GAIN control on the freighter Undecided

I'm still stuck on trying to figure out how to use the WXR. I'm fairly new to the CS weather radar Undecided
As for the terrain radar all I did was press TERR and it came on. I think CS needs to do more tutorials on systems like these.

We know the manuals are still being finalized so I expect deficiencies.

Thanks for the pointer missed the TERR button on the EFIS Panel. Olde age!  Huh

So I will revise my question:- What do the remaining radar control modes actually do?

GAIN Control
Rotate inner knob – Sets receiver sensitivity in WX, WX+T, and MAP modes • 12 o’clock detent – auto gain (no gain indication on lower left side of MAP display).
• Full counter clockwise – minimum manual gain (VAR displayed on lower left side of MAP display).
• Full clockwise – maximum manual gain (VAR displayed on lower left side of MAP display)

Thank you Mark but that was not the question. What do the TFR, WX+T (other than weather), MAP and GCS buttons do? Other than an the mode display in blue on the ND (WX+T and MAP with Tilt) I don't see any sort of display.

I assume:-
TFR = Terrain Following Radar
WX+T = Weather plus Terrain
MAP = What it says
GCS = Got no Idea
VAR = Variable Gain Mode

Do you have the GAIN knobs on the Freighter?

No, my 777 Freighter doesn't have the GAIN knobs either. Sad
